If you get a good cut, the rest of the job is easy. If you get a poor cut, the rest of the job is spent trying to compensate for the poor cut. Whether you have never cut glass before or you just want to upgrade your glass cutting skills, this class will teach you how to get consistently accurate cuts with clean smooth breaks every time. It will start with practice exercises to maintain consistent pressure control and produce accurate scores that ensure reliable breaks. A key element of the class will be everyone helping each other by participating “detection/correction” to help each student improve their stance, score accuracy, and pressure control. The objective is to be able to cut glass accurately enough, and with sufficient pressure control, that little, if any, grinding is needed after cutting.
You will learn and practice 6 different ways to score and cut glass. Different techniques are like different tools. Each has a special application.
If you have any cutting and breaking tools, bring them to the class.
